NEW ADVANCES IN IPL PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION MEAN BLONDE, WHITE, GREY AND RED HAIR CAN NOW BE SUCCESSFULLY TARGETED.
Laser and IPL (intense pulse light therapy) hair reduction have typically been ineffective on grey, blonde, white and red hair – until now. One of the largest manufacturers of medical device machines in Europe has created the Adena, a versatile IPL system that can permanently reduce fair or red hair.
It is a medical grade laser, no other IPL device is available in Australia to treat blond, white, red and grey hair – on all skin types.
The system can also be used for facial rejuvenation, rosacea, pigmentation and spider veins, making it a versatile multi programmed system to address a wide range of cosmetic concerns.
IPL works on the premise that light is absorbed by dark objects. For traditional hair reduction, this dark target matter, or chromophore, is the melanin (colour pigment) found in the hair. While effective on dark hair (especially dark hair on pale skin), this process is insufficient for white, blonde, grey and red hair, due to the fact that these absorb almost no light.
The Adena doesn’t target the melanin of the hair but instead targets the haemoglobin beneath the hair follicle. Light travels directly to the source of the hair’s nutrition; the small blood vessels below the hair in the anagen phase are destroyed by the heat and therefore produce no more hair.
The hair to be removed is waxed first in order to create micro injury to the follicle and enable the light to directly target the haemoglobin at the base of the hair follicle without obstruction.
For fair haired or dark skinned people wishing to remove unwanted body hair, the Adena offers a giant leap forward in permanent hair reduction technology.
